Mr. Maglio is the Managing Partner of Charter Advisory Group, a wealth advisory, family office and financial oversight firm based in Bedminster, NJ. Charter Advisory offers an integrated and multi-disciplinary approach to managing the investment management, wealth planning and tax advisory needs of its clients. Serving the needs of wealthy families and foundations & endowments, Mike is considered a trusted advisor to his clients, who rely on him to preserve, protect and grow their wealth.

Mike spent the majority of his more than 25-year career in the Private Client Services (PCS) practices of international tax and accounting firms including Practice Leader in NJ for Arthur Andersen’s PCS practice and Partner and Managing Director for Andersen Tax (formerly WTAS) serving the investment advisory, financial planning and tax needs of  his clients. Mike all served in leadership positions at Deloitte, and at Merrill Lynch where he headed the Stock Option and Equity planning service for senior corporate executives. In 2014 he co-founded Charter Advisory Group to be the premier independent advisory boutique, serving clients globally across multiple disciplines.

Mr. Maglio specializes in offering clients a comprehensive platform which integrates tax advisory and wealth planning into our investment management services. He serves the needs of senior & C-Suite corporate executives, business owners, physicians, family offices and entrepreneurs (and their businesses) across all aspects of their financial management needs. Mike has extensive experience working with U.S. resident foreign nationals. Mr. Maglio also provides investment advisory services to not-for-profits, foundations and endowments.

Mr. Maglio provides advice regarding structuring Family Philanthropy, origination of Private Equity firms and deal structuring as well as the sale of privately held businesses. He provides extensive guidance on liquidation events for public company senior executives, advice regarding equity based compensation plans and executive compensation matters in general.

Mr. Maglio serves on the board of several private and public foundations and private companies. He was formerly a Trustee, Treasurer, and Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Community Foundation of NJ. He currently serves on the Finance Committee and the Board of Trustees of the NJ Conservation Foundation. Mike  is on the board of directors of Inside International Industrials Corporation (IIICORP), which offers deal origination information to companies focused on the Asian markets.

Mike is a Senior Advisor to Plutus Investors LLC, a private equity and venture capital firm based in New York City, the Executive Director of SRI Forum (Strategically Responsible Investing) which offers a platform to promote and refine socially responsible and impact investing strategies and initiatives for individuals and especially not-for-profit organizations and endowments.  Mike spent five years as an adjunct professor of finance at Montclair State University.

Mike is a frequent speaker and has authored numerous articles on topics ranging from asset allocation, estate planning, changing state residency, stock option strategies, and other executive compensation matters.

Mr. Maglio received a B.A. in Economics from Villanova University and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
